The pair has released the first set of four photographs, which feature Aboah with friends and family. Shot near Regent’s Canal in North London, they wear pieces from the brand’s new collection including check totes, pink shearling and laminated trench coats.
The project was commissioned by Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey, who will leave his position at the end of the year after a 17-year tenure.
“It has been a huge honour for me to work with Burberry and Juergen Teller on this inspiring project,” commented Aboah in a statement. “My role as both model and artistic director is one I have really enjoyed and embraced. Christopher Bailey is an incredible visionary audit has been an amazing experience to work together with him and Juergen to create this series of stories.”
The photographs reflect Aboah’s sentiment and are congruent with Christopher Bailey’s influence on the brand; they feel authentic, spirited and inclusive.
The remaining images will be released from 26 December and Burberry’s new collection will be available to buy in January.
