Do you speak emoji? Apple has announced that hundreds of new emojis will be added with their iOS 11.1 update. The giant tech company revealed many of the new additions earlier this year on World Emoji Day, including more gender-neutral characters and the introduction of a woman wearing a hijab emoji.

“The new emoji make it easier for users to express themselves with greater diversity, additional animals and creates, new smiley faces and more,” says Apple. Other notable additions include a woman breastfeeding and the American sign language symbol for “I love you”, which has previously been campaigned for.

The company has also adapted its keyboard to work with alongside the seasons, adding winter wear such as a pair of gloves and scarf.

iOS 11.1 is reported to launch from next week on the 16 October 2017.
