Too Young for What?

To coincide the UK’s first large-scale exhibition of the work of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat(1960—1988), an innovative programme of free events, installations and special performances are celebrating the creativity of the pioneering prodigy of the 1980s downtown New York art scene.

The day event, Too Young for What?  is showcasing young people’s creativity from across East London and beyond. Inspired by the works of Basquiat, it explores what the artist and his practice means to emerging artists through music, performance, street art and poetry.

Young Barbican members can pre-book entry to the art exhibition, Basquiat: Boom for Real for just £5 (usually £16).
