Chanel Recreates the Eiffel Tower for Couture Week
Karl Lagerfeld always goes above and beyond for Chanel’s breathtaking show sets. In the past, we’ve seen a show space transformed into an airport, rocket, a café, a casino and let’s not forget their iconic supermarket. Of course, Couture Week is no exception, and for fall 2017, the Parisian house paid homage to their roots by recreating the Eiffel Tower.
Walking underneath the #ChanelTower, models wore boater leather hats with pleated dresses and tweed twin-sets. Suits and coats with round, cocoon-like shoulders were paired with patent ankle boots and oversized pearl earrings and, of course, the Bridal dress as the grand finale.
Chanel’s muse Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams all sat in the front row. The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo was also in attendance to award Karl Lagerfeld with the country’s highest honour—a Grand Vermeil medal—recognising his outstanding achievements and contribution to the fashion capital. Congrats Karl!
In celebration of another spectacular show, we’ve selected some of the show’s top moments on the Gram — J’adore!
