As Away release a new collection of premium leather stickers designed by some of their favourite artists, we caught up with four of the selected illustrators to see discuss their journey so far and where they’d like to escape in 2018.

Quentin Monge, Paris

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey so far?
I’m an illustrator, I spent most of my time doing paintings, digital illustrations, cut-outs. I’ve been doing them since I was a kid. From drawing in the sand with a wood stick to getting this kind of commission.

What gave you the design idea for your sticker?
I like to get lost when I travel, it always leads you to some interesting adventures and good memories. I thought it could be fun to imagine this girl lost in the jungle with her nice suitcase.

If you could escape to anywhere in 2018, where would it be and why?
I’m going back to live in the south of France this year—it’s been 10 years since I left. I’ve travelled and lived abroad for a while. I think I’d just like to go back and explore the whole south-east region.

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey so far?
Sure! I’m a French Illustrator and Art Director and have been working in London for the past 5 years. About 3 years ago, I decided to go Freelance and have been enjoying it ever since :) I love to work on my personal projects/products where I usually represent the female body in different ways. The feeling behind most of my illustrations is playfulness and confidence.

What gave you the design idea for your sticker?
Traveling is about going on an adventure and breaking away from your usual life. I wanted to portray that through jungle inspired, exotic illustrations including the binoculars, which was then made into a sticker

If you could escape to anywhere in 2018, where would it be and why?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel for the past 5 months so I’m actually quite excited to be back in London soon. But if I could escape anywhere, it would probably be somewhere in South Africa.

Kelly Shami, New York City

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey so far?
I have been drawing since a super young age, my Dad especially always encouraged it, so naturally, I made it my career. After moving into the city almost 9 years ago, I hit the ground running while always making it a point to do what I love.

What gave you the design idea for your sticker?
I love travelling. Even when I am gone I basically bring my work everywhere. It was inspired by the neon sign that goes off in my head when I am not in my office, however that doesn’t mean the work stops!

If you could escape to anywhere in 2018, where would it be and why?
I would love to go back to Lebanon, where my family is from!  The mountains and sea are so beautiful, part of my family is there, and the food is phenomenal.

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey so far?
I’m Lorraine a French illustrator, I studied graphic design then Motion design at Gobelins l’école de l’image in Paris. After my graduation, I worked 6 months for Oddfellows, an animation studio based in San Francisco. I really started working as an illustrator 2 year ago when I came back to Paris.

What gave you the design idea for your sticker?
For the sticker, I imagined what I would love to have on my bag to travel. Something sweet and simple that conveys a message of love and happiness.

If you could escape to anywhere in 2018, where would it be and why?
It would certainly be in southern Spain. To rest, visit Grenade and Seville and eat a lot of fresh food from the sun.
